Overview: To establish an understanding and awareness of issues regarding the Safe Guarding of Adults (SGA)

Outcome: The course will provide participants with an understanding of the legislation and policy in adult care practice including identifying who is a vulnerable adult, participants will also have the opportunity to discuss how they would respond to disclosure of abuse. By the end of the course participants will be able to apply principles of adult protection practice to their own care practice.

Topics Covered: The Adult Protection Policy, Who is a Vulnerable Adult, Influences on our Perception of Abuse, What Constitutes Abuse, Categories & Indicators of Abuse, Notes on Institutional Abuse, Who may be the Abuser, Responding to a Disclosure, The Written Record, Whistle blowing.

Number of Attendees: 15 Maximum
